Good to know
When to go
From late March to mid-April the apricot trees blossom and the valley turns white (full bloom lasts only a few days). The apricot harvest is in July, and September to November is the grape harvest — a great time to cycle along the Danube. In summer the villages are busiest around midday — come early.
