Best time to visit: May–June and September suit the vineyard hills around the city; the Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt, one of Europe's oldest, runs late November to December 23.

🎄 Christmas Market

Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market)

Stuttgart's Christmas market traces its documented history back to 1692, making it one of the oldest in Germany, and today it's also one of the largest — around 300 decorated stalls connected by pedestrianized streets across four central squares, with the Neues Schloss and Altes Schloss as backdrops. Known for its painted wooden stall roofs (each one individually decorated) and a strong regional-Swabian food and mulled-wine scene alongside the usual ornaments and crafts.

2026 dates confirmed as 25 Nov – 23 Dec 2026. Sun–Thu 11:00–21:00, Fri–Sat 11:00–22:00 (researched Aug 2026 via stuttgarter-weihnachtsmarkt.de — confirm before visiting in case of late changes).
11:00–21:00 · Free to enter; food and drink paid per stall
